Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones to Return! Poster Confirms It! According to one of our tipsters, Sony Ericsson is preparing a new Walkman phone (version 2011), unlikely as that may seem. As confirmation we have the following poster, promising a smarter Walkman that’s coming soon. This means that we’ll be getting a large touchscreen, gaming features maybe, a great music player, incredible audio quality and mind blowing headphones to go with this fresh Walkman smartphone. What do you say? Real or fiction? Xperia Ultima is a 12 Megapixel Concept Phone, Created by J. Havrlant. As you can see, the new Xperia Ultima keeps the large touchscreen upfront and comes with a 12.1 megapixel camera with an Exmor R sensor and HD capture. I suppose that a flavor of Android with some customization from SE is running on the device and probably there’s a 1GHz CPU inside, accompanied by 16GB of internal memory and enough RAM for the OS. Sony Ericsson P2i Makes Us Go Old School Posted: 25 Feb 2011 02:12 AM PST Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Designer FreshFarfan from Deviantart created back in 2008 a Sony Ericsson phone that we love even now, the Sony Ericsson P2i model. It’s not dual core, it’s not packed with a 4 inch display or other tech wonders, but it still looks great! This is the mother of all Xperias, if you ask me. I imagine that it uses a 3.7 inch touch display, but I can’t figure out if the QWERTY keyboard is physical or capacitive. Let’s say that the Sony Ericsson concept phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, Android and an 8MP camera and we’re happy (my speculations, not real specs). However, we’re loving the purple theme and how slim the device manages to be. It appears it was designed months ago, before the iPhone nano was even a dream. This handset is slim enough to look fragile and its screen is once again edge to edge, like the one of the previous concept… Is this edge to edge thing ever going to be implemented? Well, they seem to be back at it, with the Xperia series, but there was a time when the T and P models were very loved. The handset below combines the design of a P Series model with the back of a Cyber-shot. The idea of having a portrait QWERTY keyboard with a sliding part on top is quite original and PDA-like, for old school fans. Would you buy such a device, especially if it had Android on it? Sony Ericsson Zento is a Huge Smartphone, With a 4.4 Inch Display Posted: 22 Feb 2011 12:12 PM PST Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.One of our site’s regulars, Frank Tobias recently posted on his website a new Sony Ericsson concept phone, the SE Zento. This is quite a huge smartphone, with a 4.4 inch touchscreen, using the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and Android 3.0 as the OS. Notice how lately most concepts of handsets seem to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb instead of Android 2.3? Back to the smartphone, Sony Ericsson Zento comes with a 2,5 GHz dual core processor, a 10 megapixel camera capable of Full HD capture (Sony Exmor R) and a 3.2 megapixel front camera. HDMI is also on board and I guess that this beauty will fit right in the Xperia family. HTC Eerie HD3 Windows 7 Phone Uses 2GHz CPU, 2GB RAM Posted: 22 Feb 2011 06:12 AM PST Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.HTC HD3 is something we’re all dreaming about and it’s certainly not the HTC HD7. We’re thankful for concepts like the HTC Eerie HD3 below, created by Wallec (wwalczyszyn from Deviantart), since it’s looking incredible and its specifications are mind blowing. The device uses a 4.7 inch AMOLED display, that takes it closer to tablets than smartphones. It measures 11mm in thickness and comes with a 2GHz Snapdragon processor, 64GB of ROM and 2GB RAM, plus a microSD card slot. HTC Sense can also be seen on the handset, together with Windows 7 Mobile Edition, but you can also go with Android 2.5 or Windows Phone 7. HTC Eerie HD3 supports 4G, EDGE, GPRS and WiFi connectivity and at the back there’s a 12 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. This new HTC concept phone supports 1080p HD video capture and it has a secondary 1MP camera at the front. If you had to choose between this and the HTC HD7, which would you pick? iPhone Nano Mockups: Part 5 – iPhone 5 Mini? Matthew A Johnson created these concepts, relying on the idea that the new phones will use “edge to edge” touchscreens. Witness the power of the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5 Mini (aka the Nano). The idea is great, but I can’t help wondering if the edges won’t tend to crack easily and get even more dirty than the smaller screen. However, this theory with fit with recent speculations saying that the iPhone 5 will use a 4 inch touchcreen. What do you say? Nokia Tibetan Buddhist Phone Looks a Bit Like Motorola Aura Posted: 21 Feb 2011 02:35 AM PST Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Imagine a Motorola Aura without the bling and with a more spiritual side to it. We’re talking about the Nokia Tibetan phone, meant to spread the Buddhist teachings and provide features like a Tibetan calendar and a list of holidays. There’s also a function that allows you to play certain songs and a Tibetan language input method. Nokia Research Center was also involved in this project and even a mockup of the device was created. Nokia chose the circular shape to define tranquility and observed the life and style of Buddhist monks, in order to create this handset. The Prayer wheel concept was integrated in this device too. You have to know that while praying, monks will rotate a prayer wheel once and this mechanism has been miniaturized and integrated into the new Nokia phone. There’s also a keyboard guard included and a touchscreen display, plus the design mimics a drape on a monk’s robe. This stylish and elegant phone is also spiritual and Buddhist, so I guess that it will be very popular in countries where Buddhism is widely spread and also in Hollywood, where this religion has become… trendy. An example would be Dell, that makes good use of the platform, but only on this concept phone, created by Esato board member sonyfanboy. This is the Dell NXG, a sliding QWERTY handset with a pretty big touch display. The design reminds us of the Windows Phone 7-based Dell Venue Pro, with the OS replaced. HTC Honey is a Honeycomb phone created by joyStudios and shown below. On top of Android 3.0 it uses HTC Sense and its specs include Bluetooth 3.0 and 4G. This device also comes with WiFi, GPS and an 8 megapixel camera with flash, capable of 1080p video recording. HTC Honey incorporates a 3.7 inch Super AMOLED display with multitouch, supporting a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. 32/64GB of memory are also available on the device, as well as HDMI out. You also get a taste of the phone-customized Android Honeycomb in the last image below, if you’re curios. All the people in the know say that Android 3.0 will eventually hit smartphones. Even that “Coming Holiday 2011″ supposed launch date makes sense, with Engadget’s recent leak of info claiming that the product will be dubbed Sony S1 and announced this Fall. This PSP Tablet is supposed to have dual analog sticks, a toughened 9 inch multitouch display, PSN integration and XMB. The Grandwizard handset can make the average user a DJ, since it comes with the option of remixing sounds and creating music. The device includes a couple of screens and click wheels on the side, plus a central touch panel. Click wheels can be used for mixing, while the screens on the side will possibly lay out tracks for you to edit. There’s also a front camera on board and the touch panel at the bottom that can bring an equalizer. This is basically a portable mixing station and if you slide the fader to the left you’ll manipulate one media on the left screen and doing that on the right will take your music making to the right side. Give this baby some specialized music apps and it will rock! Sony Ericsson Xeta Runs Android Honeycomb Posted: 19 Feb 2011 01:23 AM PST Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Back again with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb phone story, that seems to be getting more and more real… This time we’re dealing with a Sony Ericsson concept, created by Frank Tobias and known as Sony Ericsson Xeta. This device features a 2GHz dual core CPU, a 4.2 inch touchscreen display and a full HD 8.1 megapixel camera at the back (with Exmor R sensor). At the front of the Sony Ericsson Xeta there’s a 3.2 megapixel camera for videocalls, while the handset also comes with the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine, a HDMI port and mini USB port. We’re pretty sure that such a device will be available in time for CES 2012 or MWC 2012.
